im sure it does - maybe your trying to logon on by rather than just logging on to "domainname" (prewindows 2000)?
my domain is "domainname.com" but i logon to "domainname" Sounds like a classic case of the DNS server thinking it's a root server. Also the A records aren't what is needed, its the MULTITUDE of SRV records that is needed (which is why Microsoft says to use a server that supports Dynamic Update, it would be a serious pain to setup all the records manually).
